Bought this as a gift and they absolutely loved it. It was something they could enjoy building themselves, and now it has a permanent spot on their bookshelf.
It was definitely more challenging than I expected, but in the best way. You really have to slow down and focus on the little details, which made the whole build surprisingly relaxing. So satisfying seeing it all come together.
I ended up enjoying the smaller decorative parts much more than I expected. Putting together the roof, screens and little garden took some patience, but those details are what give it so much personality. I’ve got mine sitting on my desk now and it makes the whole corner look completely different.
The tiny shopfronts are what sold me on this one. Each section has its own little character and it genuinely feels like a miniature street rather than just a model.
Building this brought back so many memories of my trip to China. The architecture and all the tiny details reminded me of wandering through the old streets at night. Such a beautiful piece to have at home.

I’ve done a few miniature kits before and this was easily one of the more enjoyable ones. There’s a good mix of larger sections and tiny details so it never felt too repetitive. I especially liked putting together all the little storefronts. Took some patience, but the finished alley has so much depth to it.
